Sakarya University was awarded the Global Excellence Award by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
Applying for the 2018 EFQM Global Excellence Award conducted by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), Sakarya University won awards in two areas. On October 18, 2018, Sakarya University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Savaşan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Barış Tamer Tonguç and Sakarya University Academic Evaluation and Quality Improvement Board (SAÜDEK) Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Member Tuba Canvar Kahveci attended to the award ceremony held in Vienna.
Sakarya University made its application for the 2018 EFQM Global Excellence Awards last February. Then, the performance results of the university for several years were compared with the field visit made by volunteer evaluators from Europe between 14-18 May.
Thus, the score of the university was determined according to the EFQM Excellence Model. According to the feedback report prepared as a result of all these evaluations, with the final decision made by the EFQM Award Jury, Sakarya University was entitled to receive 2 achievement awards on the basis of the basic concepts of "Adding Value to Customers" and "Developing Corporate Talents".
With "Adding Value for Customers", SAU has been confirmed that it continuously adds value to all segments it provides services, by understanding, anticipating and meeting the needs, expectations and opportunities.
On the other hand, "Developing Corporate Talents" shows that SAU is successful in developing its talent by effectively managing change within and beyond its organizational boundaries.
At the same time, the application of Sakarya University in three areas was determined as an international role model. These three areas determined by the team; Sakarya University Information System (SABİS), student-oriented educational approach and a balanced development throughout the institution and on the basis of all basic concepts.
Sakarya University, which started its journey in quality in 2006, won the National Excellence Award in 2010, the Continuity in Excellence Award in 2013, and the EFQM Excellence Award in 2015.
